I have read many stories on scuba diving and this one is an interesting one, ‘Sex Turn On from scuba diving’. And there are more than one confirmation to this. You probably have heard about turning on your partner by watching a romantic movie, a romantic candlelight dinner, a romantic stroll along the beach or a skinny swim in the ocean or swimming pool or doing a secluded BBQ under the coconut trees but how about scuba diving? Quite unheard of isn’t it but wait till you read this.
If you go muck diving at Kapalai which would be a sin if you do not do muck diving at one of the sites in Kapalai Island (one of the best diving sites in Sabah, Malaysia), ‘Mandarin Valley’ in Kapalai is home to the Mandarinfish.
There are few peculiarities about Mandarinfish. One of it is that they are highly sexual fish and they have a romantic way of courting the female fish. The tales of these nightly ritual have made the bars and pubs quite empty and it is not unusual to see a long queues of divers lining up at Mandarin Valley or other sites, waiting for the ‘show’ to begin.
The male of the Mandarinfish tends to be larger than the female. The male Mandarinfish will come out at dusk and he will scout around for small openings where the smaller female Mandarinfish is hiding. The male will do a mating dance and coaxed the female to come out to join him in a spiraling ascent above the coral.
Sometimes, the male will began to dance around the females, tempting and luring the females to join him in a mating dance. When a female do accept his advances, they will swim cheek to cheek in a spiralling format up to the open waters. And you know when the couple climax. At the peak of their climax or orgasm, a spray of eggs and sperm comes from both partners, after which both Mandarinfish darted back to their holes for safety.
And that is not over. Sometimes the male Mandarinfish can court more than one female. If you stay long enough and provided you have plenty of oxygen left in your tank and mind you, do look at your watch, you can watch another ‘Don Juan’ or ‘Casanova’ scene. The same male can come out and court the remaining females for the spectacular sex dance and if you are lucky, you may catch two females joining him in his sex dance.
And what a spectacular Climax it is. I hope none of the guys squirmed in their wet suits. But it is certainly a turn on for most couples. You knew it by their grins on their faces. And a piece of advice for the Pub owners. Put on candlelight on every table.
Stick a rose on every table and play slow romantic songs throughout. Get some handsome guys and sexy chicks to do some dance. I bet you will have a full house every night. Start later in the evening after the night dives and stay open till early wee hours. We can learn something from the Mandarinfish can’t we?
